The idea for this BABY BRAND came one winter evening as a mother was breastfeeding her child ... A successful interior designer who has worked all over the world became the mother of baby Leonardo and for the first time felt a wonderful, indescribable feeling - the joy of motherhood. From that moment came the desire to create a warm comfortable nest for her little one using natural, quality products. "I wanted to create a cosy environment for my son which was warm, safe and colourful but which would also satisfy my need for design and elegance.... I wanted an environment designed just for him with all the things necessary for a newborn baby coming into the world. I wanted to create an atmosphere for him with soft lighting, a comfortable yet practical cot and a changing area that could be adapted for different uses over time. By Leonardo's 1st birthday I realised that the same idea was shared by other mums. That's when I decided that something needed doing. My North European origins influenced my concept for "Kids Store". It is a children’s shop but it is designed with the mothers in mind.. It is an informal, warm and welcoming environment. The mothers can have a nice cup of tea while choosing the perfect bedroom for their child. There are also clean changing tables and snack tables for when the kids get hungry. And it stays open during the lunch hour. During my pregnancy I realised that people’s attitudes don’t change when you are pregnant. There are no "privileges" for mothers-to-be. The only true privilege is that soon you will become a mother. It is a shame that many people do not realise what a wonderful gift this is. Our daily routine sometimes makes us blind. But what really puzzles me is that at times there is also this lack of respect or professionalism shown towards mother and child in many so called ‘specialised kids stores’. This is why I decided to set up Latte e Biscotti, a meeting place for all those mums who care about their babies & want to find something special in a unique, professional & friendly environment. It is a place where they will always find a smile and perhaps the answers to those questions that the system can’t answers .....It is place where mothers can meet & talk about their experiences over a cup of tea as they go through the most delicate time in their lives. Latte e Biscotti is not only a store where you can buy stuff - Latte e Biscotti is a place where you can experience the miracle of life. Kids read into our smiles, they model themselves on us, they sense our emotions and by doing all that they start believing in themselves.
